What an amazing turnout we enjoyed for the inaugural meeting of the TDWI Washington D.C. local chapter! Data warehousing professionals from the District, Maryland, Virginia and out of town were amongst the almost 90 attendees! This is wonderful confirmation that the chapter is relevant and there is overwhelming regional interest. There is no doubt the chapter will be supported by local data warehousing and BI professionals in the future.

The event was hosted at the Georgetown Conference Center and included guest speakers Wayne Eckerson and David Loshin. Wayne spoke about the Data Warehouse Maturity Model and the different stages in the model. After a short networking session, David presented his thoughts on Data Governance. Both presentations were followed by very interesting discussions on the subject matter. The next chapter meeting is scheduled for January; stay tuned for more details on that coming to your email inbox soon. If you were unable to attend the meeting, we are sorry we missed you. We look forward to seeing you at the next meeting. We are more confident than ever that this will continue to be an amazing opportunity to develop local support for our profession. Presentations will be posted on the Chapter website at http://www.tdwi.org/Membership/Chapters/display.aspx?id=8055
